Los Angeles 2020. Since my last map of Los Angeles was posted, LA Mayor Villaraigosa and the Los Angeles MTA have decided to accelerate their subway construction timetable. A lot. For comparison, this is what the system looks like now. By 2020, LA should have the second-largest subway system in the U.S., after New York.
I’m hesitant to believe in it, but, oh, this would be glorious. Los Angeles, please help me out in my personal wish to never have to buy a car. I love you so much. Love me back!
Get ahold of yourself people. We’ll have it built in 2020 is the city hall equivalent of, “We love this script. We’re 99 percent sure this is a go project, all we need to do is show it to our boss to get him to sign off, but just as soon as he does that we are definitely for sure making a movie.”
The only thing you’ll have in 2020 is a stack of environment impact reports and feasibility studies to the ceiling and spent checks and a council chamber full of contractors promising that this will be built for sure, without fail by 2030.
I have this weird motherly attitude towards the...metro. I get proud tears and want to hug...
Excited for this.
